Press Release:
Deep Ancestors: Practicing the Religion of the Proto-Indo-Europeans - ADF'S NEWEST PUBLICATION

Tucson, AZ –Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF), an international fellowship devoted to creating a public tradition of Neopagan Druidry, is proud to announce its fourth book-length publication, available in October of 2009. The manuscript is entitled Deep Ancestors: Practicing the Religion of the Proto-Indo-Europeans, and is written by accomplished Pagan scholar Ceisiwr Serith.

Through a combination of the linguistics of a reconstructed language, archaeology, and comparative mythology, Deep Ancestors breathes life into the ancient Proto-Indo-European culture and religion. Ceisiwr states "This book must be considered a report on a work in progress. As time goes by, new research will be done, new ideas and data presented, and old texts and archaeology reinterpreted. This will require changes in the beliefs and practices of reconstructed Proto-Indo-European religion. Consider this a process of progressive revelation, except that instead of coming from the gods it comes from scholars."

Serith is the author of The Pagan Family and A Book of Pagan Prayer. A Pagan for over thirty years (and a husband and father for only slightly less), he has over two dozen articles to his credit, and has presented workshops at numerous Pagan festivals. In addition, he has delivered papers at Celtic conferences at UCLA, Berkeley, and Harvard, the last of which was published in the Proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium. He currently lives along the New Hampshire coast.

ADF, Serith's publishing partner, is an organization that has been at the forefront of Neopagan scholarship for the past twenty years. By branching out from its quarterly journal Oak Leaves into book-length manuscripts, ADF and its motto of "Why not excellence?" will bring the excellence of the written word penned by Serith and others to a wide and often hungry readership.

SACRED FIRE, HOLY WELL: A DRUID'S GRIMOIRE - ADF'S NEWEST PUBLICATION

Tucson, AZ –Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF), an international fellowship devoted to creating a public tradition of Neopagan Druidry, is proud to announce its third book-length publication, available in September of 2009. The manuscript is entitled Sacred Fire, Holy Well: A Druid's Grimoire, and is written by accomplished Pagan scholar Ian Corrigan.

Sacred Fire, Holy Well is an approach to a modern practice of Celtic Paganism and magical arts. Centered in the lore of the Gaelic Celts it offers a simple summary of Irish mythic lore, and ritual patterns for individual and group worship. It also provides complete instruction in a system of Druidic magical work, trance vision, spellbinding and work with spirits.

Corrigan has been teaching, learning, singing and playing in the American Neopagan movement since 1976. He became active in Ár nDraíocht Féin in 1990, serving as ADF's first Chief Liturgist and first elected Vice-Archdruid, and serving as Archdruid for a short time. He is an Elder of Stone Creed Grove, ADF's oldest congregation, and the primary author and editor of ADF's Dedicant training program. Presently Ian serves as a priest in ADF, helping to develop its spiritual training and magical work. He is busy writing his next book "The Book of Nine Moons" – a curriculum for the development of a Celtic Pagan personal practice. He continues to teach Celtic Paganism, trancework and magic at festivals and seminars.

ADF, Corrigan's publishing partner, is an organization that has been at the forefront of Neopagan scholarship for the past twenty years. By branching out from its quarterly journal Oak Leaves into book-length manuscripts, ADF and its motto of "Why not excellence?" will bring the excellence of the written word penned by Corrigan and others to a wide and often hungry readership.

The manuscript is entitled Ogham: The Secret Language of the Druids, and is written by accomplished Pagan scholar Robert (Skip) Ellison.

"This solidly researched guide to Ogham, the traditional alphabet of Irish poets and loremasters, belongs on the bookshelf of anyone interested in Celtic traditions or modern Druid spirituality. Ellison deserves high praise for a readable and practical introduction to the intricacies of Ogham lore." -- John Michael Greer, author of The Druid Magic Handbook

Ellison has been involved with ADF (www.adf.org) and Druid spirituality since 1990. The author of four books on Druidry and divination, as well as many online classes, and his teaching assignments at the Grey School of Wizardry, Ellison always brings a fresh look to the subject of his books. Press Release:
A WORLD FULL OF GODS TO BE ADF'S FIRST FORAY INTO A WORLD FULL OF PUBLISHING

Tucson, AZ –Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF), an international fellowship devoted to creating a public tradition of Neopagan Druidry, is proud to announce its first book-length publication, forthcoming in August of 2005. The manuscript is entitled A World Full of Gods: An Inquiry into Polytheism, and is written by accomplished Pagan scholar John Michael Greer.

In this book John Michael Greer turns his attention to the intellectual underpinnings and superstructures of the Pagan and magical movements. Pagan religions have tended to be more concerned with practice that with theory and in a system that has no dogma - no legislated doctrine - that is as it should be. Yet as out movement grows and matures, it is inevitable that we will begin to think in a more abstract way about our models and systems. John Michael Greer has provided a primer on the kinds of ideas and themes that must be included in any discussion of the theology and philosophy of Neo-pagan religions.

Greer has been active in a variety of Druidic organizations, including ADF (www.adf.org), and heads the Ancient Order of Druids in America (AODA). As the author of twelve published and/or forthcoming books on alternative spirituality, Greer brings a deft and astute touch to his discussions of theological issues and quandaries that are as multifaceted as the gods themselves.

ADF, Greer's publishing partner, is an organization that has been at the forefront of Neopagan scholarship for the past twenty years. By branching out from its quarterly journal Oak Leaves into book-length manuscripts, ADF and its motto of "Why not excellence?" will bring the excellence of the written word penned by Greer and others to a wide and often hungry readership.
